REQUIREMENTS FOR PSI CHI MEMBERSHIP
The Chapter adheres to more stringent initiation requirements than the international standard. Despite this, we are proud to induct dozens of psychology students each year. Those who meet requirements will be contacted by the Chapter and invited to join us. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions concerning these requirements.
For those entering the Psychology major prior to Fall 2016
UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM (B.A.)
Cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better
Minimum of 18 credit hours in Psychology with PSY GPA of 3.5 or better. These 18 credit hours must include the following courses:
PSY 100 Intro Psychology*
PSY 245 Behavioral Statistics*
PSY 246 Research Methods
A minimum of 3 PSY courses taken at WCU including at least one course from Group 1 and at least one course from Group 2. (See Psych Major Advising Sheet for a list of Group 1 and Group 2 courses).
* or Department-approved equivalent
For those entering the Psychology major Fall 2016 or after
UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM (B.A.)
Cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better
Minimum of 15 credit hours in Psychology with PSY GPA of 3.5 or better. These 15 credit hours must include the following courses:
PSY 245 Statistics*
PSY 246 Research Methods
A minimum of 3 PSY courses taken at WCU including at least one course from Group A or B and at least one course from Group C, D, or E. (See Psych Major Advising Sheet for a list of courses).

CLINICAL DOCTORAL CURRICULUM (PSY.D.)
Must have earned a minimum of 36 credit hours (inclusive of a maximum of 12 transferred credits)
Cumulative GPA of all graduate coursework completed at WCU must be 3.50 or above
A minimum of 15 credit hours of graduate Psychology courses with GPA of 3.75 or above
The minimum 15 credit hours must include the following five courses in the student's curriculum:
PSY601 Introductory Statistics
PSY700 Adult Psychopathology
PSY705 Multicultural Clinical Psychology
PSY733 Psychology Clinical Practicum
PSY740 Research Practicum
INDUSTRIAL/ORGANIZATION MASTER'S CURRICULUM (M.A.)
Must have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours
Cumulative GPA of all graduate coursework must be 3.50 or above
A minimum of 15 credit hours of graduate Psychology courses with GPA of 3.75 or above
The minimum 15 credit hours must include the following five courses in the student's curriculum:
PSY602 Advanced Statistics
PSY560 Industrial Psychology
PSY562 Organizational Psychology
PSY524 Psychometrics
PSY569 Ethics and Professional Skills in Organizational Practice
GENERAL MASTER'S PROGRAM (M.A.)
Cumulative GPA of all graduate coursework must be 3.75 or above
Must have completed the following courses:
PSY601 Introductory Statistics
PSY602 Advanced Statistics
PSY524 Psychometrics
PSY600 Research Report
PROCESS
Undergraduates and graduates are reviewed on their completion of their classes, cumulative GPA, and Psychology GPA
An invitation to join is sent out to students who meet our requirements
Students will receive instruction for accessing the Psi Chi central website to finalize applications
