HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER?

Psi Chi is an invitation only honor society.  That said, we have our requirements on full display in the Requirements page.  If you have questions about these, please don't hesitate to contact us.  If you believe you meet these requirements but haven't received an invitation, please contact the Faculty Advisor(s) directly.

DO I APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIP?

No need!  As long as you meet the requirements we will contact you and send an invitation to join.  If you believe you meet these requirements but haven't received an invitation, please contact the Faculty Advisor(s) directly.

I'M GRADUATING, DO I GET HONOR CORDS?

Yes.  (Please continue reading.)  The Chapter will provide each member with their honor cords to wear during graduation.  The Chapter will reach out to all current members to sort out who is graduating to place the order.  If you are graduating, please pay special attention to Chapter emails.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF JOINING?

The Chapter takes pride in its student leadership, and being an active member offers many opportunities to gain leadership skills. Members of the Chapter give back to the department and the community by assisting with events on and off campus. This offers great opportunities for networking with other students across campus and with faculty outside the classroom. Our members show academic prowess and together we create a network of strong students excited to share ideas and make a difference. National Psi Chi also offers research and travel grants, awards, a journal focused on publishing student research papers(Psi Chi Journal of Psychological Research), a career center, and other important benefits for student members (see https://www.psichi.org/?page=member_benefits#.WfFgP4ZryRs for more details).
